How to use
A short guide: where to get a prompt, where to paste it and how to get the most out of the site.
1. Find an artist or genre
Type a band name into the search. You can also browse by genre: Genres → scene → artist. If the artist isn't in the database, the site will find them on MusicBrainz and generate prompts in a minute or two.
2. Pick a level
Overall style is the artist's sound as a whole. Albums: for many bands every album sounds different. Live: the sound of the stage and the venue. Eras: albums grouped by similar sound.
3. Paste into Suno
In Suno, switch to Custom mode and paste the line into the style field (Style of Music). If there's an Exclude Styles line under the prompt, paste it into the exclusions field in the advanced options — this keeps Suno from adding unwanted things (autotune, for example). Write the lyrics yourself or let Suno do it.
4. Paste into Udio
Switch the site to Udio — the line gets shorter and the exclusions go right into it (“no …”). Paste it into the track description field.
5. Live sound
The toggle adds signs of a live performance to any prompt: a venue recording, crowd noise, room reverb.
6. Mixing styles
On the Mix styles page, pick up to three artists, albums or eras and set their shares. The first source is the base (40% by default), the others are deviations. Vocals, era and tempo feel come from the largest source; you can switch vocals to another source (the Vocals field above the prompt). 2–3 sources work best; if Suno picks up only one style, shift the shares. You can share a mix with a link.
7. Structure hint
Some prompts come with a song skeleton: [Intro], [Verse], [Chorus]… It's optional — paste it into the lyrics field if you want to set the shape of the track.
8. Why there are no names in the prompts
Suno strips artist names and may reject a request for imitating a specific artist. That's why the sound is described through its characteristics: genre, era, instruments, vocals, production, tempo and mood.
9. Rate the result
After generating, come back and click Yes or No under the prompt. Votes push good prompts to the top, and we regenerate the bad ones.
